Travelling by train is a different kind of fun. You get a chance to meet new people, see the beauty of the country and also gain a unique kind of knowledge. An interesting fact related to the train is not inside the train, but outside, next to the tracks. During the journey, your attention must have gone to the boards next to the railway track (What is the meaning of W/L board), on which ‘W/L’ or ‘C/F’ is written. Do you know what it means? Hardly people will have the correct information about it!
A recent video on YouTube channel @RailwayJasoos A post has been made in which an interesting information related to railways has been given. A person is standing next to the railway track and is pointing towards the pole next to the track. There are two boards on that pole. On the first board it is written ‘C/F’ and on the second one it is written ‘W/L’. The board is very important from the point of view of safety.
What does ‘C/Fa’ and ‘W/L’ mean?
The person told in the video that ‘C/Fa’ means ‘whistle’ and not ‘gate’, ‘W/L’ means Whistle and Level Crossing. This board is a kind of signal for the loco pilot, i.e. the driver of the train, that when he reaches this place, he should start blowing the whistle from here onwards, be cautious and slow down the train because there is a gate i.e. level crossing ahead. In this way, people standing at the gate ahead will become alert and they will not try to cross the crossing.
India’s shortest train journey!
These boards are often made of yellow colour which is a very bright colour and is visible to the loco pilot from a distance. People find information related to trains very interesting.
